The annual financing gap for Education is almost $100 billion

Slow progress between 2015 and 2020, further challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic, has put the world off track to achieve the global SDG 4 targets of universal pre-primary, primary and secondary education by 2030.

The Global Education Monitoring Report estimates that there will be an annual financing gap of $97 billion on average in the 79 low- and lower-middle-income countries between 2023 and 2030, or 21% of the total cost.
